A Bear Update

April 2025

Hello Bear Families,

The Strategic Plan kick-off meeting will take place on April 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at North Royalton High School. We ask that everyone take the time to RSVP so we can appropriately plan for the evening. We will be engaging in an activity to get us thinking about where we want to go over the next three years as a District. In the months that follow, we will develop the Strategic Plan and have it ready to present to the Board this August. We are excited to get started and look forward to the input and feedback.

The Board recently approved several projects for the spring and summer. There will be a redesign of the kitchen at North Royalton Middle School. This includes the replacement of equipment that has reached its useful life, new flooring, and a redesign of the serving area. This will create a better traffic flow to more efficiently serve our students, and the updated equipment will allow our staff to provide more food options.

At the high school, we will be replacing the boilers originally installed in the 1988 section of the high school. Our maintenance team has done an outstanding job of keeping these boilers in service and should be commended for their efforts.

We will also replace the lighting in the Performing Arts Center at NRHS. We recently replaced the sound system, will replace the lighting this year, and plan to replace the seating in the near future. We are excited about these updates and the experience they will provide our students, staff, and families.

Finally, I would like to congratulate the cast and crew of “Alice in Wonderland!” It was another outstanding performance, and we couldn’t be prouder of the entire group. Thank you to everyone involved for their hard work in putting on such an incredible production.

Have a great month!

Thank you,
Mike Laub
