March 2025
Bear Families,
I hesitate to say this, but I believe Spring may be close to arriving. We are transitioning out of our winter athletic seasons and the spring practices have started.
This past weekend, we had three wrestlers compete in the state tournament–Anna Tsirambidis, Sophia Antonio and Mannix Wasco. All three wrestlers made us proud. Anna made it to the state tournament in her first year of wrestling and will be back to compete again next season. Sophia finished third in the state and is a four-time state qualifier and two-time state placer. Mannix finished fourth in the state and became a three-time state placer. Congratulations to our athletes and their coaches.
In addition, our boys basketball team will compete in the state final four on Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse. Good luck Bears!
The transportation committee has been meeting over the past few months to review the state of the department. As you know, there is still a statewide shortage of drivers. Families received an email yesterday that details the outcome of those meetings and provides information on what to expect going forward.
There will be voting at the elementary school again on May 6. This will be a non-school day for elementary students only and will also be a professional development day for our elementary school staff. The high school and middle school will have school that day.
Finally, the middle school held its annual leadership conference this past month. It is an incredible activity that allows students to engage in leadership development opportunities with students from other schools. Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen for our students.
Spring Break is March 31 through April 4. Have a safe and restful week!
As always, reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
Thank you,
