November 2024
Hello Bear Families,
I have to start my message this month congratulating our students and staff who were a part of the District production of “Shrek The Musical.” I couldn’t have been more impressed with the production and the number of students and staff involved in making this happen. The talent was clear and so was the amount of fun our students had throughout the evening. A job very well done.
The Board of Education had the opportunity to recognize our girls soccer team at the Board meeting on November 21. The team took second in the state this year after an incredible playoff run. We couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments.
Our overall athletic program had a great fall season. In addition to girls soccer being second in the state, the cheerleading team took first at the suburban league championship, cross country qualified for regionals, the boys soccer team made it to the elite 8, the football team ended as co-champions of National Division of the Suburban League and volleyball and tennis each finished fourth in the conference. Congratulations to all of our athletes.
Our marching band also had an incredible fall as they secured their 34th consecutive “superior” rating at OMEA State Finals. They also took home several awards at their competitions at Sandusky Perkins, Norton and Maumee. Congratulations on another outstanding fall performance season!
Our students excel both inside and outside of the classroom. In fact, I believe that the arts, athletics and activities are just another classroom to help our students grow and develop. All of these experiences are important and we need to continue to try and be the best we can be at everything we do. We would like all of our students to get involved in something outside of the classroom and we will continue to support that goal.
It is a great time to be a Bear!
Happy Thanksgiving,
