HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

Senior, Leah Prezenkowski, Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program
Leah is under consideration for a scholarship by the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program Selection Committee.  Congratulations, Leah!

Congratulations to all of the NRHS Inductees
On March 18, 2026, Numerous NRHS Students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at CVCC.  Congratulations to our amazing students!

NRHS Show Choir Receives Superior Rating
Royal Harmony received a superior rating at their last OMEA adjudicated event. Congratulations to all of our students and directors!

NRHS Spring Musical was Chicago.  It was an incredible show!  Congratulations to all of our students and directors!

Congratulations to Gymnast, Max Lozinak
Max was the Region 5 All Around Champion in Fort Wayne, IN.  Max took first on the Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, and Parallel Bars.  Max also earned the USA Gymnastics Men’s Program Academic Achievement Award.  Max will be competing at Nationals in May.

The 26th Annual Night at the Races
The North Royalton Athletic Boosters is hosting the annual Night at the Races on Saturday, April 18, 2026.  It will be held at St. Sava Hall.  Doors open at 6:00 pm, dinner is at 7:00 pm, and the races begin right after dinner.  Tickets are $50 per person.  If you can’t make it, you can still support the event by sponsoring a horse name for $25 and earn an entry into a $1000 raffle.  Tickets are available through Hometown Ticketing.   Click here for more information.

NRHS Spring Break
Spring Break starts on March 30, 2026.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

PTA Needs Your Help

End of Course Exam Details
ELA 2
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and Thursday, April 16, 2026, we will run a Testing Bell Schedule for the ELA 2 End-of-Course Exam.  All sophomores are required to take the ELA 2 End-of-Course Exam at North Royalton High School.  Students taking a make-up exam will also be in attendance.  Students will report to their testing rooms at 7:20 am.

US History & Government
On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, we will run a Testing Bell Schedule for the US History and Government End-of-Course Exams.  All students enrolled in US History or Government are required to take the End-of-Course Exam at North Royalton High School.  Students taking a make-up exam will also be in attendance.  Students will report to their testing rooms at 7:20 am.

Algebra & Geometry
On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, we will run a Testing Bell Schedule for the Algebra 1 and Geometry End-of-Course Exams.  All students enrolled in Algebra 1 or Geometry are required to take the End-of-Course Exam at North Royalton High School.  Students taking a make-up exam will also be in attendance.  Students will report to their testing rooms at 7:20 am.

Biology
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, we will run a Testing Bell Schedule for the Biology End-of-Course Exam.  All freshmen are required to take the Biology End-of-Course Exam at North Royalton High School.  Students taking a make-up exam will also be in attendance.  Students will report to their testing rooms at 7:20 am.

Lunch on Testing Days
Any students not testing who will be eating lunch at the high school will need to arrive by 10:25 am and enter through Door #1.  Any students not eating lunch at the high school who arrive before 10:55 am will need to enter Door #2 or Door #5 and will be held in the Science Hub until 10:55 am, when they will be released to first period.  First period will start promptly at 11:00 am.

April 18 is Alumni Day at NRHS
The Alumni Association invites all NR Alumni to join us to cheer on our home teams and enjoy complimentary chips and hot dogs on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 12:00 pm.  Click here for more information.

2026–2027 Course Registration Review
At this time, we ask all families to log into PowerSchool and carefully review your student’s Course Registration selections one final time to ensure accuracy.  Please note that the courses listed reflect your child’s requested selections and will be used to build their 2026–2027 schedule. This is not your child’s finalized schedule for the upcoming school year.  We ask that you carefully review your child’s alternate elective selections. If a first-choice elective cannot be accommodated due to scheduling conflicts or course availability, your child may be placed in one of their selected alternate electives.  Click here for the full document of information.

Senior Fees
The end of the year is quickly approaching for our Class of 2026.  All senior students must pay their fees, including any lunch balances, before purchasing a Prom ticket.  Please contact the main office with questions.

The BEARS Family Resource Group
The BEARS Family Resource Group presents a School-to-School Transition Panel Discussion on April 9, 2026, in the high school community room.  This will be an informational event focused on answering frequently asked questions when a student is transitioning between buildings.  Click here for more information.

Distracted Driver Influencer Challenge
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month—and your TikTok could help save lives. UH Rainbow Injury Prevention Center and Cuyahoga County Safe Communities are asking teens to create a distracted driving awareness video, post it on TikTok, and compete to win Amazon gift cards.  Click here for more information.

NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement
NASA continues to support a robust and highly impactful internship program. Across the agency, approximately 2,000 paid internships were offered over the past year through various programs. At NASA Glenn alone, more than 200 students participated in paid internships during the most recent summer session.

The College of Wooster’s B-WISER Science Camp for Girls
Buckeye Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (B-WISER) is a non-profit that began in 1990 and is designed for girls who will be completing grades 7-10.  We prioritize making this opportunity affordable to any interested young woman; financial aid recipients pay just $160 for the week, including room and board. Partnering with the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, B-WISER camp provides hands-on experience in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, engineering, plus a variety of advanced topics.  The residential program takes place on The College of Wooster campus from June 15-20, 2026.  Please see our website for more information:  https://bwiser.spaces.wooster.edu/.   Click here for the flyer.

Broadcasting at CSU
Cleveland State currently offers a minor program in Broadcasting & Digital Content Production.  The major is in the process of being reviewed and approved.  Please click here for more information on the current minor.  Cleveland State is having its annual open house on Saturday, April 25.  They will be giving tours of the podcasting lab and broadcast studio, and Classic Teleproductions will have one of their production trucks on site to tour as well, from 11:00 – 12:30 that day.  Registration for the open house is at https://www.csuohio.edu/openhouse.  Any students/parents may also stop by our studio if they would like to do so that day. Parking Permits
ALL lots are SOLD OUT.  Students who submit applications will be placed on a waiting list, and if spots become available, they will be notified in order of completed applications.  

AP Capstone
Starting with the class of 2028, NRHS will be an AP Capstone school. This program will be a great benefit to students who want to build strong research, critical thinking, and communication skills while gaining a competitive edge for college admissions.

Tutoring Available at NRHS
NHS students will be available for tutoring during the school day for students who need help.  Please click here to sign up for tutoring.

25-26 Yearbooks are on sale now!
Yearbooks are on sale now. Cash/Check to Ms. Roach (D105) or Mr. Dietrich (D106). Price from now until 12/20/2025 is $100. Price increases to $105 after December 20, 2025, until May 1, 2026. Books must be purchased on or before May 1, 2026. No exceptions. Click on the Order Form or purchases can also be made at www.yearbookforever.com with customization options. School Fees in PowerSchool
The fees for 2025-2026 have been updated in PowerSchool.  Parents can check their PowerSchool accounts for fees and pay via credit card on https://payschoolscentral.com/ or send cash or checks (payable to NRHS) to the main office at the high school.

Multiple Bell Schedules
North Royalton has a number of different bell schedules that we will run throughout the year based on our in-school activities/assemblies.  Please click here for the dates we will run a different schedule.  Students with Open Campus, please make special note of when the schedule will be different to ensure you are in school at the appropriate times.

Course & Activity Fees

NRHS  Adds School SAFEid to Safety Protocols
NRHS has added the School SAFEid visitor management system to our safety protocols.  All parents, visitors, volunteers, vendors, and substitutes will be required to check in at one of our kiosks with a state identification card or driver's license.  This will allow us to continue to reduce risks and keep our NRHS family safe.
