HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

NRHS AP Honor Roll
North Royalton High School has earned Silver recognition on the 2025 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll, an honor announced by the College Board that recognizes schools for expanding access to Advanced Placement coursework while maintaining strong student performance. NRHS earned Bronze in 2023 and 2024. The AP School Honor Roll highlights schools whose AP programs are successfully building a college-going culture, increasing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and strengthening overall college readiness. Schools earn this recognition annually based on performance data tied to participation and achievement in AP courses.

Congratulations to Senior, Naisha Chopra
NRHS senior, Naisha Chopra, has been named a finalist for the Park Scholarships, one of the most prestigious merit scholarship programs in the nation.  Naisha is one of 96 finalists selected from over 3,100 candidates.  

Blood Cancer United Fundraiser
Blood Cancer United Student Visionary Program is underway. High school students from across the Cleveland area are working to raise funds to help create a world free of blood cancer. Hanna, Leah, and Kira are candidates for the North Royalton team looking to make the biggest impact possible and could use your help. Show Choir Competition
The NRHS Show Choir competed on January 31, 2026, at Findlay.  Congratulations to Ben Swab for earning Best Performer.  Our Show Choir was awarded Best Crew, Best Show Design, Small Mixed Grand Champs, and 2nd Overall for the day!

Wrestling Accomplishments
Suburban League Tournament Placers: Anthony Kinney 6th, Jack Stannert 6th, Parker Pratt 5th, Tyler Rowles 3rd, and Nik Kofinas 1st!

Swimming Accomplishments
Congrats to our swimmers who swam at the Northeast Classic last week! Some meet highlights were:
Season best for Girls Medley and PR for Ginny Baugh in the 50 free (29.24)
Season Best for the Boys Medley and PR for Sam Grotto in the 50 back (28.72), 11th place
Season best for Sadie Morgan in the 50 Free (26.40)
PR for Sadie Morgan in the 100 Fly (1:03.79), 10th place
PR Sammie Amick in the 50 Free (26.60)
Season Best for Boys 200 Free Relay with a PR from Sam Grotto (25.13)
Season Best from Milin Mathur in the 100 Breast (1:04.93), 10th Place

 

NEWS TO KNOW

NO SCHOOL for students on Monday, February 16, 2026
There will be no school on Monday, February 16, 2026, for President’s Day.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

NRHS Choir Spaghetti Dinner
On Tuesday, February 17th, NRHS Choirs are hosting a spaghetti dinner before Royal Harmony's community performance!
The Spaghetti Dinner runs from 3P-7P for carryout and 5P-7:30P for dine in!
Meal includes:  Pasta, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and a beverage! (gluten-free available for pre-order too!)
You can pre-order HERE until 2/14 for $10 meals.
You can also drop in on the night of for a $12 meal.
Royal Harmony's community performance is at 8 PM in the NRHS PAC. It is a 15-20 minute show that is TOTALLY FREE! We know many people cannot travel to our competitions, so this offers an opportunity to check it out on our home turf! We would love to have you join us!  

Inkwell at NRHS
The Inkwell release night will be Thursday, February 19, 2026.  Please join us in the community room at NRHS to celebrate our talented writers!

NRHS Paint Night
Come and join us for Family Paint Night at NRHS on February 27, 2026, in the high school art rooms.

NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement
NASA continues to support a robust and highly impactful internship program. Across the agency, approximately 2,000 paid internships were offered over the past year through various programs. At NASA Glenn alone, more than 200 students participated in paid internships during the most recent summer session.

The College of Wooster’s B-WISER Science Camp for Girls
Buckeye Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (B-WISER) is a non-profit that began in 1990 and is designed for girls who will be completing grades 7-10.  We prioritize making this opportunity affordable to any interested young woman; financial aid recipients pay just $160 for the week, including room and board. Partnering with the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, B-WISER camp provides hands-on experience in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, engineering, plus a variety of advanced topics.  The residential program takes place on The College of Wooster campus from June 15-20, 2026.  Please see our website for more information:  https://bwiser.spaces.wooster.edu/.   Click here for the flyer.

Job Fair at CVCC March 5, 2027
Attend CVCC’s Job Fair to meet employers hiring for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions (ages 14+). Connect with hiring managers, complete applications, and interview on the spot. Open to the public.  Click here for more information.

Parking Permits
ALL lots are SOLD OUT.  Students who submit applications will be placed on a waiting list, and if spots become available, they will be notified in order of completed applications.  

AP Capstone
Starting with the class of 2028, NRHS will be an AP Capstone school. This program will be a great benefit to students who want to build strong research, critical thinking, and communication skills while gaining a competitive edge for college admissions.

Tutoring Available at NRHS
NHS students will be available for tutoring during the school day for students who need help.  Please click here to sign up for tutoring.

25-26 Yearbooks are on sale now!
Yearbooks are on sale now. Cash/Check to Ms. Roach (D105) or Mr. Dietrich (D106). Price from now until 12/20/2025 is $100. Price increases to $105 after December 20, 2025, until May 1, 2026. Books must be purchased on or before May 1, 2026. No exceptions. Click on the Order Form or purchases can also be made at www.yearbookforever.com with customization options. School Fees in PowerSchool
The fees for 2025-2026 have been updated in PowerSchool.  Parents can check their PowerSchool accounts for fees and pay via credit card on https://payschoolscentral.com/ or send cash or checks (payable to NRHS) to the main office at the high school.

Multiple Bell Schedules
North Royalton has a number of different bell schedules that we will run throughout the year based on our in-school activities/assemblies.  Please click here for the dates we will run a different schedule.  Students with Open Campus, please make special note of when the schedule will be different to ensure you are in school at the appropriate times.

CVCC Buses
We will provide shuttle buses to and from CVCC for students needing transportation.  Students riding the buses from the high school to CVCC will be picked up in the staff parking lot behind the high school and the buses will depart at 7:10 am each morning.  The shuttle will run from CVCC to NRHS mid-day to bring the AM students back and take the PM students to CVCC.  The shuttle will run at the end of the day to bring the PM students back to NRHS.

Please be advised that on the following days (when NRHS is not in session), the CVCC shuttle buses WILL transport students.  However, students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the high school.

Parking Permits
The Gold and Purple lots are SOLD OUT.  Juniors and Seniors in the Silver Lot have been added to the waitlist for the Purple Lot if spots become available. There is still availability in the Silver lot. Parking permit applications will be accepted throughout the school year until they are sold out.  Students with a valid driver’s license for the 2025-2026 school year can log in to their Class of 2026, Class of 2027, and Class of 2028 Google Classrooms to access the application.  This was posted starting on May 20, 2025.

Proof of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance can be uploaded on the application, shown in person, or copies sent to the NRHS main office.

Student Registration MUST be completed/updated in PowerSchool for the 2025-2026 school year and all fees, as of the end of the 2024-2025 school year, must be paid for students to pick up their parking permits. 

Course & Activity Fees
Fees have been posted in each student’s PowerSchool account through the 2024-2025 school year.  Fees for the 2025-2026 school year will be posted after the start of the year.  Parents can check their PowerSchool accounts for fees and pay via credit card on https://payschoolscentral.com/ or send cash or checks (payable to NRHS) to the main office at the high school.

NRHS  Adds School SAFEid to Safety Protocols
NRHS has added the School SAFEid visitor management system to our safety protocols.  All parents, visitors, volunteers, vendors, and substitutes will be required to check in at one of our kiosks with a state identification card or driver's license.  This will allow us to continue to reduce risks and keep our NRHS family safe.
