HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

NRHS Senior Composer
Senior Jacob Nellis was featured in the Contemporary Youth Orchestra Performance.  The Contemporary Youth Orchestra is nationally recognized for providing young composers and musicians opportunities to perform and develop contemporary orchestral works.  We are so proud of your accomplishment, Jacob!

Senior Earns a Perfect ACT Score
Albert Armin earned the highest possible ACT Composite score of 36 on the test.  About one-quarter of 1% of students who take the ACT earn a top score.  Earning a top score of 36 on the ACT is a significant accomplishment that means the student has met all four of the ACT College Ready Benchmarks.  Congratulations, Albert!

English Learners Celebration
We had a successful celebration for all of our English Learners for earning multiple awards from our staff.  Thank you to our wonderful staff for recognizing all of our students at NRHS!

NRHS Teacher & Support Staff Person of the Year
English teacher Chris Roach has been named the teacher of the year for the 2025-2026 school year.  Main office secretary Cheryl Anderson has been named Support Staff Person of the Year.  NRHS is so lucky to have these two amazing women working with our students daily.

Good Luck to all of our spring athletes as they begin the postseason tournament.

Parking Lot Changes
Starting on Friday, May 22, 2026, students with Purple Lot parking permits will move to the Gold Lot for the remainder of the school year.  This will allow the Purple Lot to be open for senior parking for events and parent parking for middle school events.  Students with Silver Lot parking permits will remain in the Silver Lots.

Parking Lot Reminders for Students and Visitors
All of the parking lots at NRHS are completely sold out.  Students must have a valid parking permit and display it properly to park on school grounds.  All visitors to NRHS during school hours must park in a visitor’s parking spot.  If all visitor’s spots are occupied, visitors may park in a NON-PAINTED available spot.  We appreciate your cooperation.

Dress Code Reminder
As we move into the warmer spring weather, this is a reminder to all students to continue following our school dress code expectations.  Hats, hoods, and sunglasses are not permitted during the school day and must be removed upon entering the building. Additionally, all shorts should be an appropriate length, and clothing that exposes excessive skin is not permitted.  Staff members will address dress code violations and may send students to the office until the issue is corrected. Please be aware that repeated violations will result in progressive disciplinary consequences.  We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to a great end of the school year!
