NRHS Senior Service Project
Senior Hayden Wanyerka is running a used and broken electronic device drive at NRHS in collaboration with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The Western Lowland Gorilla of equatorial Africa is critically endangered and may become extinct within the next 100 years. Gorillas share 99% of their DNA with humans, and so their loss could be catastrophic for science. To help protect these animals and their habitat, we need to stop the mining of an ore called Coltan, which is typically found in many of today’s electronic devices. Nearly 80% of the world’s Coltan comes from the Congo Basin, which is also the last stronghold of the Lowland Gorilla. Please consider donating electronic devices to help save the gorillas. Donation boxes will be in the ELA classrooms at NRHS. This event will run through November 25, 2025. Click here for more information.

CTAG Weighted Courses Update
We were recently informed of a new law passed by the State of Ohio requiring that certain CTAG (Career-Technical Assurance Guide) courses be weighted equivalently to AP courses. In accordance with this new legislation, we have retroactively applied AP weighting to the relevant courses and updated the transcripts and GPAs of any affected students. Click here for more information.

Students with Open Campus, please make special note of when the schedule will be different to ensure you are in school at the appropriate times.

We will provide shuttle buses to and from CVCC for students needing transportation. Students riding the buses from the high school to CVCC will be picked up in the staff parking lot behind the high school and the buses will depart at 7:10 am each morning. The shuttle will run from CVCC to NRHS mid-day to bring the AM students back and take the PM students to CVCC. The shuttle will run at the end of the day to bring the PM students back to NRHS.
Please be advised that on the following days (when NRHS is not in session), the CVCC shuttle buses WILL transport students. However, students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the high school.
